LED Sign Voltage and Power Planning Before Fabrication

1. Confirm Destination Input Voltage
The AC input determines the power-supply selection. State the site voltage and frequency rather than assuming they can be changed after production.

2. Select the Low-Voltage System

3. Define Driver Location and Access

4. Plan Cable Exits

Do not treat voltage as a single label. The destination input, driver output, circuit grouping, cable distance and service location form one coordinated system.
- Confirm destination input voltage and frequency from the project team.
- Approve the LED, driver and circuit schedule for the actual sign layout.
- Show driver locations and how they can be reached after installation.
- Coordinate cable exits with mounting drawings and concealed services.
- Define the factory-to-installer connection boundary and locally supplied parts.

No. The suitable low-voltage system depends on the approved LED modules, loads, circuit lengths, driver selection and service strategy for the project.
Can the driver be concealed permanently?
It may be concealed from view, but it should remain safely accessible for inspection and replacement under the approved site and electrical plan.
Why do long cable runs need review?
Long runs can affect voltage drop, conductor sizing, circuit grouping and driver location. Provide route lengths before the electrical layout is finalized.
Who is responsible for the final field connection?
A qualified local installer or electrician should complete and verify field connections under the applicable requirements. The factory should clearly document its supplied components and connection boundary.
